Although there are many other Christian websites linked through Top of the Net, we are currently the only listing in our category (Religions Of The World / Christianity / Music / Bands and Artists). Although we like the idea of being #1, we wouldn't mind some friendly "competition". We are currently recording our new CD at Third Street Music in Marietta, OH. Over the past month and a half, we had recorded the drums and bass tracks for nine songs with scratch vocals and guitars. As we were not satisfied with the results, we decided to "scrap" the nine songs and start over with a click-track. This will put us further behind-schedule for the release, but we're confident it will yield a better-quality project in the end. There will soon be photos from the studio posted on the website, linked from our calendar page. Just scroll down to the later months of 2003 and click on the images along the border corresponding to the studio dates. Check back to this page regularly for updates.

As I write this monthly report, it is the beginning of December; and I am forced to ask myself the question, "What does this holiday season mean to me?" As we are beginning to see the festive decorations and hear the traditional holiday music on the radio, everything seems to focus on the politically-correct concept of peace, joy, and "all that happy stuff." Now, there's nothing wrong with jingling bells, dreams of snow and mistletoe, and presents under the tree... but I think the whole focus on "I'll Be Home for Christmas" and "Deck the Halls" really misses the point of Christmas.
As Rick Stoneking of Crossway Online Ministries said in his Christmas message:
"...would your Christmas be destroyed if you couldn't get
or give material gifts to your family, friends, or loved ones?
There is a lot of theology in that last question. Give it deep
and careful thought. Indeed, give it deep and meditative
prayer. What does it say about the spiritual condition of
your life if your focus on Christmas is all about material
things of this world rather than the riches of eternity?
What does it say about your spirituality if you force the
only true and Living God to share the memory of His
blessed birth with the trappings of immoral humanity?"
I know that December 25 is not really Christ's actual birthday, but that's what we need to celebrate. If your focus this December is on food, fun, and family (as good as those things may be), you're missing out on the true blessing of the season. If the depth of your holiday season is frantically searching (and/or fighting other shoppers) for the perfect gift for your loved-ones, remember this: the best gift of all this Christmas can't be bought in a store. It is FREE. It's the gift of eternal life given by Jesus Christ. Tell all your loved-ones about it, because without it, all the other Christmas gifts in the world are worth absolutely nothing. (Mark 8: 36-37)

Our next step --once we have finished the bass and drums-- is to do the guitars for all the songs, then move on to vocals. On the CrossDaily website, Krusade ranked at #53 on December 31. On January 6, we climbed a point to #52, then climbed another point to #51 on January 8. On January 12, we reached #50, then peaked at #49 with an average of 0.44 votes per day on January 15. But on January 20, we fell back to #51. On January 22, we were back up to #50, then up to #49 on January 23. On January 27, we settled in to #50 where we remained for the remainder of the month.
On January 31, we reached a cumulative total of 100 votes on the Top of the Net website, securing our position at #1 for the month of January.
In January we added voting buttons for WebNet77 and ChristianTopSites.com. WebNet77 currently allows each individual computer to vote once for a website, then does not allow you to vote again until another computer votes for that same site. The managers of the site have announced that they will soon be changing the policy to allow each computer to vote once per week, regardless of other votes. Krusade has received a total of 15 votes in January with an overall rating of 9.93 out of a possible 10. On ChristianTopSites.com, Krusade currently has a rating of 10 out of a possible 10.

No, it's not the infamous Dove Award that's awarded for excellence in Christian music (we're not that well known), it's an award for excellence in Christian websites. The message accompanying the award we were sent congratulated us on a job well-done "for proclaiming Jesus is Lord and for promoting Christian values."
